Quoted from ancient fiber literature, it is said that the Nagasasra Kitchen Keris was first made by Ki Enom Supa, son of Empu Supo or nephew of Sunan Kalijaga.

It is said that the arrival of Islam in Java made the king of Majapahit indecisive. He was persuaded by his son, Adipati Natapraja, who first followed in the footsteps of the saints to embrace Islam. Meanwhile, on the other hand, he still wants to maintain the Buddhist religion that his ancestors believed in.

The King of Majapahit reasoned that he could not yet embrace the apostle's religion, because he did not know deeply about the teachings of that religion.

As a king who has the degree of kapaditan, Wilatikta (the name for the king of Majapahit) is able to control his anger with a smile and patience, when debating religion with his son, Adipati Natapraja.

' The path of belief in Hyang Manon cannot be forced on someone. The good is flattered, the different is flawed. That's life in the world ' Said the Wilatikta to his son

In the midst of anxiety about facing Majapahit's future situation, Wilatikta heard a whisper from the sky saying, Hey King of Wilatikta, if you want all of your descendants to be safe then look for the conditions for goodness, namely one keris with one thousand kitchens. Your descendants in the future will certainly not be separated and will remain in Java. Sasra's kitchen keris will later become a king's heirloom.

After hearing the whisper of the occult, the king of Majapahit then gathered the royal patih, regents and courtiers. They were ordered to find masters to make a thousand kitchen kerises. However, none of the masters in Majapahit could do it. Until finally Tumenggung Supagati and Tumenggung Supadriya were given the task of finding a master who could make a thousand kitchen kerises.
Tumenggung Supagati searched the east and south, while Supadriya searched the west. At that time, Tumenggung Supadriya's search went straight to the residence of his son, Ki Supa, who is also a master of mental illness. Arriving at Empu Supa's house, Tumenggung Supadriya only found his grandson, Ki Enom Supa, who was still nine years old.

When asked about the arrival of his grandfather at his house, Supadriya conveyed what the nata Majapahit had ordered. After hearing his grandfather's story, Ki Enom Supa agreed to make a sasra kitchen keris. The words of his grandson naturally shocked Tumenggung Supadriya. He felt that what his grandson said was not what he actually said, but the words of the gods that came out of his grandson's mouth.

  • Hearing what his grandson said, Tumenggung Supadriya then took his grandson to go to the palace to meet nata Majapahit. In the presence of nata Majapahit, Ki Enom agreed, but the process of making the keris would be carried out in the ocean.

  • Meanwhile the nata Majapahit will award the rank of regent if Ki Enom Supa is able to make a sasra kitchen keris.

  • Until the manufacturing process, the Regents and retainers were ordered to guard and wait by the sea day and night. Selected steel is prepared for keris making materials. Not long after everything was ready, Ki Enom Supa entered the ocean to start making keris as instructed by the nata Wilatikta. Even though he didn't know what Sasra's kitchen keris looked like.

  • In the ocean, Ki Enom Supa used his elbow to forge iron, while the anvil or place where he received the forging used his knee. The steel of choice that had been prepared seemed unable to withstand Ki Enom Supa's forged elbows. Every time iron is wrought, it falls apart and dissolves into the sea water. Until days the process of the sasra kitchen keris had not yet been made.

Elsewhere, news of the making of the sasra kitchen keris by Ki Enom Supa spread to remote areas and was heard by Sunan Kalijaga.

Knowing that his nephew was forging keris in the ocean, Sunan Kalijaga quickly met him. Seeing the arrival of his uwa', Ki Enom offered a prayer. In the ocean, Sunan Kalijaga saw the steel that his nephew had forged dissolved in sea water because it could not withstand the force of his elbow.

Seeing the forging process was futile, Sunan Kalijaga then gave an iron from a Kamil man given by Empu Supa, who was none other than Ki Enom Supa's own father.

To his nephew, Sunan Kalijaga advised him to first prepare the sasra kitchen keris pattern. After giving the message, Sunan Kalijaga then came out of the ocean to meet Empu Supa who at that time happened to meet him at a crossroads, returning from Blambangan.

In Blambangan, Empu Supa received the gift of a wife and the title of Prince from the King of Blambangan, Siyung Laut. During his stay in Sedayu, Blambangan, he earned the title Prince of Sendang.

Until one day, Empu Supa remembered that he still kept the heirloom keris of Kyageng Sengkelat in the middle of the ocean that he had made.

To his wife who was seven months pregnant, Empu Supa said he would go get it. He also advised that in the future the baby will be in his womb if a boy is born then name him Ki Jaka Sura, whereas if a girl is born please his wife who gives the baby's name.
On his way home, Empu Supa met Sunan Kalijaga at a crossroads and he was told that his son Kumenthus was making a keris, an heirloom from Sasra's kitchen. Even though he didn't know what Sasra's kitchen keris looked like. Just relying on his supernatural powers is not enough. Sunan Kalijaga asked Empu Supa to take the thirteen luk Sengkelat Keris that he had made for his son's example.

Hearing his brother-in-law's request, Empu Supa immediately took Kyageng Sengkelat which was kept in the middle of the sea. After being given to Sunan Kalijaga, Empu Supa was advised to rush back home via a shortcut.

Meanwhile, Sunan Kalijaga in an instant met Ki Enom who was forging iron in the ocean.

To his nephew, Sunan Kalijaga said, make a keris like this, luk thirteen high, while showing the Kyageng Sengkelat keris. However, attach the dragon at the bottom to the top.

Naga sasra means dragon taksana bathing, while sasra numbered a thousand. So that's what is called a thousand kitchen. Not long after, Ki Enom Supa finished making the Nagasasara kitchen keris.

When the keris was finished, the ocean water robbed, the waves suddenly turned big. Many fish and sea animals die due to the heat energy that comes out of the Nagasasra Keris. Seeing this incident, Sunan Kalijaga asked Ki Enom to immediately get out of the ocean. Meanwhile outside the Regents and Courtiers who watched from above were shocked by the changes that had occurred in the sea water.

While holding the Nagasasra kris with his right hand held up, Ki Enom Supa emerged from the ocean. Above, the regents had prepared a bronze gendhaga container for the Nagasasra keris. After being placed in the gendhaga container and handed over to the Nata Wilatikta, the Keris was then tayuh to confirm the truth of the thousand kitchens as instructed by the god.

After being told the truth after being told, Nata Wilatikta then gave the name Keris Luk Thirteen Nagasasra Kitchens or thousand kitchens with the name Ki Segarawedang with Dewa Nagasasra kitchens.

The name Segarawedang is due to the carrying of the keris which makes the ocean rob. By the nata Wilatikta, Ki Enom Supa was then awarded the daughter of the nata as a wife with the rank of Regent.

It is said that the Sengkelat and Nagasasra keris by Sang Wilatikta, will one day become the ageman of the nata in the land of Java.
